52nd Infantry Regiment


From the "History of DeWitt County, Illinois - 1882"

DeWitt County was represented in this gallant regiment by a dew men in companies C and D.  It
was organized at Geneca, Kane County, IL, in November 1861, by Col. J. G. Wilson.  It was 
mustered into the US service November 19, by Lieutenant J Christopher.  The regiment was
mustered out and moved to Camp Douglas, Chicago, IL, and received final payment and
discharge 7/12/1865
