20th Infantry Regiment


From the "History of DeWitt County, Illinois - 1882"

This regiment was organized in Joliet, May 14, 1861, as volunteers.  It was mustered into the
United States service for three years, June 13, 1861, by Capt T G Pitcher, U.S.A.  The 
regiment was mustered out July 16, 1865, at Louisville, KY, and arrived at Chicago on
July 19, 1865, for final payment and discharge.
