Green Valley Society:


Was organized by Rev. Robert Stevens in 1874. Under his labors, a handsome church was erected 
about half way between Clinton and Waynesville. The membership is small. John Pollock and Wm. 
Armstrong, and their families, have been active supporters of religion in this society, and a 
few others co-operating . This society forms a part of Waynesville circuit. Mt. Tabor and Green 
valley, and Kenny, have the same pastor, and have preaching every two weeks. the presiding 
elders lately serving on Waynesville circuit have been M. Buck, W.S. Prentice, P. Wood, C.W.C.
Munsell, and W.N. McElroy. End.
