32nd Infantry Regiment


From the "History of DeWitt County, Illinois - 1882"

This regiment was mustered into the United States service as Illinois Volunteer, December
31, 1861.  It served  the full term and participated in a number of battles sustaining
heavy losses.  While in the US service it travel about 11,000 miles.  It was mustered out
at Fort Leavenworth Sept 6, 1865.
